Luella was the daughter of Archibald M and Eveline C Bovee, who are also buried in New England Cemetery with five of their other children, all of whom lived short lives - from months to 22 years.
Luella attended a small college in Central City where William George Fowler was also in attendance. They were married in her home in Vacoma on Christmas day in 1889. He was a farmer, a teacher, and a third generation Methodist clergyman.
They had three children. Joy Herbert was born in Decatur in 1890, Ruth Annette was born in Lincoln in 1895, and William Ray in Blair in 1899.
Luella died in 1904 and Will married her friend Mae Gietzen. In 1909 they moved to a farm in Porcupine, Montana. Will and Mae are buried in Shorthill Cemetery, Park County, Montana.
Ruth Annette Fowler Durgan, Luella's only daughter, is buried near her father. Luella would have been very, very proud of her. She was as sweet and kind a person as I have ever known - a cousin who I considered an aunt. I will always think of Aunt Ruth fondly.
