Born in Jacksonville, Mr. Callan was a lifelong resident of the Starke area. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was disabled. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Callan is survived by: two daughters, Mandy Callan of Starke and Kimberly Callan Goldsmith of Jacksonville; three sons, Michael Callan Jr. of Jacksonville, Mitchell Callan and Matthew Callan, both of Starke; his mother Virginia Callan of Melrose; a sister Sandra Callan of Gainesville; two brothers, Joey Callan of Georgia and Daniel Callan of Florida and four grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mr. Callan were Oct. 28, 2002 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel in Starke with the Rev. Gene Bass conducting the services.
