A very special father, treasured in my heart, death cannot separate us, we're just a prayer apart. I talk to you so often, like you were never gone, which really is appropriate for in me you still live on.

THIS IS MY DAD,HE WAS MY HEART, I LOVED HIM MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THE WORLD. HE DIED 10 YRS AGO OF CANCER. MY DAD WAS THE MOST LOVING MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. HE RAN A SMALL STORE IN FRONT OF OUR HOME FOR MANY YEARS. DADDY WAS A VERY GENEROUS MAN TO ALL THE KIDS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, ESPECIALLY THE ONES LESS FORTUNATE THAN US, DADDY ALWAYS GAVE TO THE KIDS, BUYING THEM SNOWBALLS, BIKES AND LETTING THEM HAVE COKES AND CANDY EVEN WHEN THEY HAD NO MONEY. AT HIS FUNERAL ALL THE KIDS THAT GROWED UP WITH US WERE LAUGHING AND SAYING WELL FOR YEARS, WE NEVER KNEW A PENNY WOULD NOT BUY A COKE AND CANDY BAR AT HOMER'S STORE, WE ALWAYS WONDERED WHY IT WOULDN'T DO IT IN THE OTHER STORES. WHY MR. HOMER WOULD TAKE OUR PENNY,PUT OUR STUFF IN A BAG AND GIVE US BACK A NICKEL, SMILE AND SAY YAWL COME BACK NOW. MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY DAD WAS THE MOST LOVING ONE I CAN EVER REMEMBER, I THOUGHT I WAS A PRINCESS AND HE WAS MY KING, HIS LOVE FOR ME WAS SO STRONG AND STEADY, HE WAS THE IDEAL DAD, ALWAYS HAD TIME TO PLAY WITH ME, NO MATTER WHAT SILLY GAMES I WANTED TO PLAY OR WHAT CRAZY RULES I WOULD MAKE, HE PLAYED ALONG WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE. I NEVER HEARD HIM SAY ONE TIME THAT HE WAS TOO TIRED OR TOO BUSY FOR ME. NOT ONCE IN MY LIFE DID I EVER NOT FEEL THE STRONGEST LOVE A FATHER CAN HAVE. HE LOVED ME UNCONDITIONALLY AND WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME, NOT ONLY AS A CHILD BUT AS A ADULT ALSO. AND THIS CARRIED OVER TO MY CHILD TO, HIS GRANDSON WAS JUST AS IMPORTANT TO HIM AS I WAS AS A CHILD. MY DAD HAD A BEAUTIFUL SOUL. I JUST WISH ALL KIDS IN THE WORLD FELT THIS KIND OF LOVE. WHEN MY HUSBAND COMMITTED SUICIDE, MY DAD NEVER LEFT MY SIDE, HE WAS THERE WITH ME THROUGH IT ALL, HE WOULD LAY WITH ME AND HOLD ME WHILE I CRIED AND CRIED WITH ME. A FEW YEARS LATER ON THE SAME DAY THAT JEFF DIED, MY DADDY GOT SAVED AND HE SAID BABY DOLL I DONT WANT YOUR HEART TO HURT ON THIS DAY EVER AGAIN, I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THIS DAY AS THE DAY YOUR DADDY'S NAME GOT WROTE IN THE "BOOK OF LIFE". WHEN DADDY GOT THE CANCER, I KNOW HE WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN, YET HE WENT THROUGH CHEMO AND RADIATION AND FOUGHT IT FOR US, AND THEN AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE HE HAD A HEART ATTACK AND IT PUT HIM IN A COMA FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WANTED HIM TO GO ON TO HEAVEN BUT TO PLEASE GIVE ME A SIGN SO I COULD LET HIM GO KNOWING THAT HE KNEW HOW MUCH I LOVED HIM, AND I TOLD HIM WHAT A GREAT FATHER HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN AND HOW MUCH I LOVED HIM, I TOLD HIM EVERYTHING I WANTED TOO AND AFTER I GOT DONE TALKING TO HIM, THE PREACHER WAS IN THE ROOM ALSO AND MY DADDY TRIED TO GRAB MY HAND AND TALK TO ME, WE ALL THOUGHT HE WAS COMING OUT OF THE COMA AND THE PREACHER RAN TO GET THE DOCTOR'S AND THEY ALL RUN IN AND SAID THAT HE WAS HAVING A REFLEX, BUT EVERYONE IN THE ROOM SAID NO HE IS NOT, HE WAS TALKING TO HIS BABY CAUSE SHE ASK HIM TOO. AND I KNOW IN MY HEART THAT HE DID THAT FOR ME. THEN THE NEXT DAY WHEN THEY UNPLUGGED THE LIFE SUPPORT I TOLD HIM BYE AND THAT I LOVED HIM AND HE DONE THE SAME THING AGAIN. SO I KNOW THAT MY DADDY WANTED ME TO KNOW THAT IT WAS OK AND THAT HE LOVED ME TOO. THAT WAS MY DADDY, HE WAS READY FOR HEAVEN, YET HE WANTED TO COMFORT ME AGAIN LIKE HE DONE ALL HIS LIFE. ME AND DADDY USE TO ALWAYS GIVE ONE ANOTHER LITTLE REDBIRD MEMENTO'S AS GIFTS, ONE YEAR I BOUGHT HIM A FATHER'S DAY CARD WITH REDBIRDS ON IT AND HE PUT IT IN A DISPLAY CASE IN THE STORE FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND HE CRIED WHEN HE READ THE WORDS ON THE CARD, ABOUT A GIRL AND HER DAD, AND HE WOULD MAKE ME LITTLE WOODEN RED BIRDS AND GIVE TO ME ALL THE TIME, AND BEFORE HE DIED I HAD ALREADY BOUGHT HIM A FATHER'S DAY CARD FOR THAT YEAR WITH A REDBIRD ON IT AND I HAD WROTE HIM A LETTER IN IT TELLING HIM HOW MUCH I LOVED HIM AND THANKING HIM FOR BEING THE MAN HE WAS, I NEVER GOT TO GIVE HIM THAT CARD, BUT I STILL HAVE IT AND WILL ALWAYS KEEP IT. BUT NOW IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYTIME I FEEL DOWN AND OUT AND START MISSING HIM, I ALWAYS SEE A REDBIRD, LIKE ONE NIGHT I HAD CRIED ALL NIGHT OVER HIM AND THE NEXT MORNING I WAS STILL HURTING SO BAD AND WHEN I GOT UP AND OPENED THE DOOR MY WHOLE YARD WAS FULL OF REDBIRDS, AND I KNOW THAT IS MY DADDY, DOING WHAT HE DONE ALL HIS LIFE.... MAKING ME SMILE.... LETTING ME KNOW IT IS OK AND THAT HE LOVES ME STILL... I LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART AND HAVE TO SAY THAT HE WAS THE TOTALLY MOST AWESOME DAD GOD EVER PUT ON EARTH. I LOVE YOU DADDY.... FOREVER AND A DAY....

My Dearest Daddy, "I Love You"...
I think of you each day...
I feel your arms around me,...
that's how i get through my days...
You're looking down upon me,...
to guide me on my way...
but it's very hard without you,...
each and every day...
People always tell me,...
the grieving will subside...
But how can it get better,...
without you by my side...
No matter how hard they try,...
to help me with this pain...
I am all consumed by thinking,...
it will never be the same...
I know one day we will meet,...
in the Heavens up above...
It's the one thing that helps me,...
to never forget your love...
My Dearest Daddy, I love you,...
You're with me everyday...
I will keep this love within me,...
until that beautiful day.....
