My Mother was such a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved her family with her whole heart. She was a care giver to everyone that needed her. She was very dedicated to her family and a friend to many. She loved cooking and collecting. She had such wit and charm that everyone that she met loved and respected her. She was a true charming spirit. We love and miss you momma.
She was preceded in death by Husband, Alford Lasater, son, Jimmy Lee Bethurum, Parrents,Frank N.Mathis and Jainie A. Mangum.
My mother said she was awakend at 4am that morning with a feeling that something was wrong. She stayed awake maybe an hour and went back to bed. At 10:30 After my dad and myself had went to work (I was working for the summer) there was a knock on the door and it was the Military Personel, and in her heart she knew then what she did not want to hear. They confirmed she was his mother and ask if she was alone. She was and they ask if she could call a neighbor or someone. She called our neighbor, her friend from across the street to be with her when she recieved the news that he had been killed in an accident and the time was 4am.
A Poem To My Mother
I ONLY WANTED YOU
They say memories are golden
well mabe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still,
In my heart you hold a place
No one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
Remember me when flowers bloom
early in the spring
Remember me on sunny days
in the fun that summer brings
Remember me in the fall
as you walk through the leaves of gold
And in the winter-time-remember me
in the stories that are told
But most of all remember me
each day-right from the start
I will be forever near
for I live within your heart.
GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED,AND A CURE WAS NOT TO BE.
SO HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND YOU,AND WHISPERED 'COME WITH ME'.
WITH TEARFUL EYES WE WATCHED YOU SUFFER,AND SAW YOU FADE AWAY. ALTHOUGH WE LOVED YOU DEARLY, WE COULD NOT ASK YOU TO
A GOLDEN HEART STOPPED BEATING,HARD WORKING HANDS,LAID TO REST...
GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE TO US
THAT HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST.
TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE
WHO LOVE ME
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love and you can only guess,
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown,
But now it's time I traveled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for awhile that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on,
So, if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near,
And if you listen with your heart,
You'll hear all my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome Home."
