Vernon was born to William Dudley Parks and Virginia Josephine "Chastain". He was my uncle from my father, Dudley Parks', side. Vernon was electrocuted while working on a power line during a storm near Clovis, New Mexico. He was only 33 years old with a wife, Darlene and three children, Dewayne "Mathews" Parks (adopted), Richard Parks and Steve Parks.
