MARA, JOHN J.—Age, 33 years. Enlisted, May 2, 1898, at New York city, to serve two years; mustered in as sergeant, Co. M, 71st infantry regiment, May 10, 1898; wounded in action, July 1, 1898, at San Juan Hill, Cuba; died of malarial fever and acute dysentery, September 11, 1898, in First Division Hospital, Camp Wikoff, Montauk Point, N.Y.
