Article in the March 21, 1940 edition, Front page:
"All died in a fire at their home Saturday, near Shirley (AR), Husband Otis (was) not expected to live, (Mother/wife) Sallie Allen's brother Tom Treece died the next day, Sallie and all the children were buried in the same casket. Mrs. Sallie Allen was a widow before marrying Mr. Allen. Her previous husband Floyd McCoy died in France during WWI."
