John Henry Clark, 88, of Dallas, Texas, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on March, 7, 2012.

He was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on December 7, 1923 to the late Julius McNeil and Cordie Eller (Williams) Clark. John grew up in Wilkesboro and after serving in the US Navy during World War II moved to Dallas, Texas in 1948. He retired from Vought Aeronautics after 45 years of service.

John married Paulynn Foster July, 17 1946 who preceded him in death after 47 years of marriage. John's three brothers, Anthony, Julius and Robert, also preceded him in death.

While visiting his sisters, John was introduced to Lillie (Crysel/Blankenship). After a short courtship they were married December 10, 1994 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. John is survived by his present wife (Lillie) of 17 years.

John is survived by his daughter Connie Lane and husband Charles; his son, Robert Clark and wife Linda; and Lillie's daughter, Patricia Knowles and husband Whit; grandchildren: Lee Lane and wife Fhebe, Craig Lane and wife Janie, Keith Lane and wife Tina, Shana Ford and husband James, Kristi Walker, Courtney Lane and husband Gordon, Jonathan Clark and wife Gerilynne; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Flossie Johnson of Ronda, NC, and Frances Clark and Betty Mastin, both of Wilkesboro, NC; and a host of dearly loved nieces and nephews

John was a kind and gentle giant of a man who dearly loved his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Grove Hill Funeral Home's Chapel with Harry Long officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 6pm to 8pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Lee Lane, Craig Lane, Keith Lane, Jonathan Clark, Gordon Lane, Clark Mastin, Josh Boyd, and Andrew Lane. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dane Mastin, Mark Call, Trevor Ford, Trent Ford, Tanner Ford, Calvin Walker, Davin Lane, Matthew Montgomery, and Dallas Montgomery.
