I was only five when Grandma O'Neill died, but my clearest memory was at Christmas time when my parents told me I could have a candy cane off the tree. As I reached for it, a branch caught on my sleeve and the tree tipped over into my grandmother's lap. I ran into the kitchen yelling, "The Christmas tree fell on Grandma." My father moved like lightening and righted the tree. By that time, I was sobbing, but she picked me up and said, "Honey, it's all right. The angel just wanted to come down and give me a kiss."
