Violet Buhler Allred 1931 ~ 2007 Violet Buhler Allred peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 29th, 2007, surrounded by her husband George, their children and spouses. She was 75-years-old.Survived by her husband, George J. Allred, and their children, Christine (Mike Gifford), Douglas George Allred (Penny), Carolyn (Al Garcia), and Dianne Allred. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Angela Gifford (Greg Carter), Cynthia (Dave Zieber), Melissa (Cory Hermansen), Julia (Douglas Althof), Amanda Gifford, Jessica Gifford, Tiffany (Nathan Zaugg), Erin Allred, Phillip Garcia, Travis Garcia, and four great-granchildren, Peyton Zieber, Benjamin Zaugg, Grace Zaugg, and Matthew Zaugg. She also leaves four brothers, Fred Buhler (Ruby), Lyman Buhler (Carol), Sylvan Buhler (Daphine), and Sanford Buhler (Jeannie), nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and a granddaugter, Aundralyn. She was born to Hazel Selina Loveridge and Alma Herman Buhler on November 13, 1931, at home in Highland, Utah, she was the eighth of 11 children. After graduating from American Fork High School with honors, Violet moved to Salt Lake to work and accepted a blind date with George, a soldier stationed at Fort Douglas. They fell in love and Violet and George were married in the Salt Lake Temple December 10, 1952. Violet worked as a secretary at the Utah State Board of Education for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed numerous church callings. Her greatest pleasure came from her family. She was famous for her parties, for both family and friends. George and Violet loved to travel and would often take their children and grandchildren with them. They all have wonderful memories of those trips. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Belvedere Ward, 607 East Downington Avenue (1820 South), Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 6:30-8:00 p.m., at the Deseret Funeral Home, 36 East 700 South, Salt Lake City and one hour prior to services at the Belvedere Ward. Interment will follow the Funeral Services at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane (2260 East), Salt Lake City. Condolences may be sent to the family at
