Lester was the son of Lester Francis Malhoyt, Sr. and Margaret Gertrude Fair Williams. He was married twice:
1. to "Margie" Margaret Jean Monday on February 22, 1969 in Arlington Co., VA. They divorced in 1978.
2. to Linda Gail (Winstead) Anderson on September 10, 1978 in Woodbridge, Prince William Co., VA.

Lester and Margaret had no children.

Lester and Linda were the parents of two children:
1. Stacey Margaret (Malhoyt) Eagelman
2. Jason Lester Malhoyt
