Casper married Elizabeth J. Randles on May 31, 1866 in Coshocton County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Abraham Jr. and Eliza (Binning) Randles. Casper's parents were Anna Martha (Roppell) and Peter Hosfelt Sr., according to Federal Census they both were born in Germany. Casper was the 5th of 8 sons born to this couple. Casper & Elizabeth's known children were; Anna E., born abt 1867, Charles, Elizabeth, George C., John, Adilla, Mary she was born about 1879 in Missouri and Joseph. Casper & Elizabeth spent the early part of their married life in Ohio, moving to Pulaski County, Missouri around 1879. Casper received 160 acres of land under the Homestead Act of 1862 in LaClede County, Missouri, before removing to ,Oklahoma about 1897.. Their sons; Charles,George C and John (all born in Ohio) are listed in the Federal Indian Census as being in the Cherokee Nation.
Joseph Hosfelt John Hosfelt and his wife Amanda Hosfelt are buried in Fairview also.
Casper moved to Colorado after Elizabeths death in the Cherokee Nation. He died at the age of 81 in the home of his daughter Mrs. Anna E. (Hosfelt) Henry of Longmont, Colorado. A Death Certificate was found by Shirley & Keith Noreen of Colorado giving the information about Casper's date & place of death.
