Sarah Lou Guffey was the daughter of Ephraim Berry & Morning Caroline McKinney. She first married George Thomas Hastings; and to this union was born eight known children - Fannie Della, Martha Callie, James Oscar, Sye Ephraim, Robert, Serena Magdelene "Maggie" (Willmon), Bertie, and Copeland.

Sarah later married Benjamin Franklin Hall.
