Eugene Clary, 71, Spirit Lake, died July 8, 2005, at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born in Shelby, Mont., to William Clary and Celia Loomis. He married Laurene E. (Edwards) Clary on Aug. 22, 1953, in Coeur d'Alene and lived in the Spirit Lake area for 45 years.
He was a Union Ironworker and worked as a foreman and a supervisor and an underwater welder. He attended Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Ironworkers No. 14, Spirit Lake Masonic Lodge No. 57, enjoyed fishing, hunting, rodeos, riding horseback, photography, computers and scuba diving.
He is survived by his wife, Laurene at the Spirit Lake home, two sons, Rex and Richard Clary, both Spirit Lake, one daughter Christi Liese, Ferndale, Wash., two brothers Fred Clary, Spirit Lake, Merle Clary, Tacna, Ariz., three grandsons, Jason Craner, Christopher Clary, and Cameron Clary, one great-grandson, Kadin Craner. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Masonic graveside internment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake.
