Actor. Born George Clarence Dennis James Von Ruckleman Woodd III in Honolulu, Hawaii, his performances are credited for transforming the local entertainment scene in Hawaii. In 1959, he was the first native Polynesian to be cast in a regular role when he accompanied his mother on the TV series, "Adventures in Paradise". For feature films, he appeared in "Blue Hawaii" (1961), "Surf Party" (1964) and was a regular on the TV series "Hawaii Five-O". He was also an accomplished songwriter whose most notable songs were "Puka Shells" and "Tutukane". (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
