Comedian, Producer. Born Morton Goldaper, he was best known as the second husband of entertainment icon Lucille Ball. Morton became a popular nightclub comedian in New York, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas and the Borscht Belt, before his marriage to Lucy in 1961, brought him to Hollywood and television. His first involvement with Lucy's career came not long after their wedding, when he took on the job as a comedian on "The Lucy Show" in 1962. When Desi Arnaz stepped down as executive producer of "The Lucy Show" Lucy took over Desilu Productions and Morton became a production consultant on the series. In 1967, Desilu Productions was sold to Paramount and the couple formed the new company Lucille Ball Productions, with Morton as vice president. As executive producer, he produced "Here's Lucy" from 1968 to 1974 and Lucy's final TV series "Life With Lucy" in 1986. He also produced several Lucille Ball television specials as well as the TV movies "Bungle Abbey" (1981) and "Sentimental" (1984). For motion pictures, he was executive producer for the film "All the Right Moves" (1983). He died at age 74 in Palm Springs, California. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
