"John Yanuklis passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Dellridge Health & Rehabilitation, Paramus, NJ at the age of 75. Son of the late, Constantine and Adeline Mello Yanuklis, he was born in Jersey City, NJ on August 3, 1936.
John was a former director and Executive Vice President of Strober Organization, Inc. and manager of several of the firm's retail locations in the Hudson Valley, was among the first to be honored in the Susquehanna University Football Hall of Fame, was a member & former chairman of the Village of Monroe Planning Board, was on the board of directors of Wartburg Lutheran Homes, was a medic in the National Guard, was a member of several local planning and building associations as well as a parishioner of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Survivors include his wife Ann Hewes Yanuklis, at home, his son Richard and his wife Tiffany of Bedford Corners, NY, his daughter Amanda and her husband Paul Kucerka of Basking Ridge, NJ, his brother, Paul Yanuklis of North Bergen, NJ, his grandchildren: Zack, Casey, Caroline and Victoria, his aunt Clarice Coira and her husband Elido of Washington Township, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday, October 19 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 21 Still Road, Monroe. Interment will follow in Seamanville Cemetery, Monroe.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601."
