Kelly "Doc" Cohoon, 52, died on Feb.19,2004 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, Ks. He was born on June 18,1951 to Jack William and Phyllis Catherine (Kramer) Cohoon. He married Debra Clark Aug.7,1976 in Kingman,KS.

He was a 1969 graduate of Dodge City High School, where he played football and baseball for 4 yrs. He then graduated from Creighton University Dental School in 1979.

After returning to Dodge City, he was a partner in medical Heights Dental Care with Dr. Kelly Henrichs. He was very active as a coach and contributor to baseball, basketball and track programs, including teh renovation of the Memorial Stadium track.

. He officiated high school football for many years and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed flying and in 2002 obtained his pilots license which always enabled him to be a "short flight away." with all of his enjoyments and interest of life, his family was always his highest priority. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc.,the American Dental Assoc.,the Kansas State Dental Assoc.and the board of directors of teh Dodge City Legend basketball team. Survivors are his wife,one son, Ty and wife, Danielle, Hutchinson and one daughter, Kaely Rosel and husband, Eric,Oklahoma City; his mother, Phyllis Cohoon,Dodge City, one brother, Larry and wife, Debra of Derby,KS and one sister,Vicki Jean Sunberg and husband, Steve of Dodge City; two brothers-in-laws, Max Clark, Kingman and Jeff Clark and wife, Jane, Saudi Arabia, one sister-in-law, Kim Mason,Dodge City; his mother-in-law Vera Clark, Kingman,KS and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacey Elizabeth Cohoon in 1981 and his father, Jack W. Cohoon in 2000. Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church with Larry Williams and Gerald C. Rendal presiding. Memorials went to Dodge City School athletics.
