Sergeant First Class, U.S. Army

On 8 November 1963, Sergeant First Class William Joseph Everhart was serving with Detachment A1-132 (Ban Don), 1st Special Forces Group, U.S. Army Special Forces Vietnam, Military Assistance Advisory Group, Vietnam.

On that day, SFC Everhart was killed in action in Darlac Province when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
