Mr. K-Rongio L. Clanton passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. He was born in Richmond, to Kenneth and Josephine Clanton. He grew up with two older sisters and one younger brother. K-Rongio was baptized at Gravel Run Baptist Church at an early age. He had a personal relationship with the Lord.
K-Rongio was a free spirit and enjoyed spending time with his children and family. He enjoyed life to the fullest. "Jr." was a kind loving and devoted son who truly loved his mother. He had an amazing heart, was very adventurous, spontaneous, and a care-free person. K-Rongio loved being around people, he was the true definition of a people person. He loved many and was loved by many. He was known by many names, "Bleek," "KC," and "Footie," but most important he was a great dad, son, brother, friend, uncle, nephew, and cousin. Jr. just had a certain way about him he was charismatic, kind-hearted, handsome, loveable, funny, and he had so much swag.
K-Rongio also loved his clothes, hats, jewelry, and shoes. His favorite hobbies were cutting hair, playing pool, driving, hanging out with friends, listening to music, and he was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. But most of all K-Rongio was "truly" a mama's boy to no avail.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Kenneth E. Clanton; grandparents, Annie and Robert E. Clanton, and John and Martha Coleman; great-grandparents, Wilbur and Mamie Branch; four uncles, Robert E. Clanton Jr., Delle Warren Clanton, John H. Coleman and Harvey Coleman; and two aunts, Juanita Wynn and Malinda Clanton.
K-Rongio is survived by: his three children, K-Shawn Alexander, Omari Mason and Kimora Clanton, all of Petersburg; his mother, Josephine Brown and stepfather, Barry Brown; two sisters, Tarnisha Bradshaw (William) of Spotsylvania, and Dawn Little (Delchon) of Petersburg; a brother, Kalreece Clanton (Tawanda) of Petersburg; and a stepgrandmother, Delores Render of Petersburg.
He also leaves to cherish his memories: seven aunts, Fannie Brown (Ember), Margaret Hinton (Ron), Virginia Clanton, Diane Clanton, Alfreda Reese, Shirley Coleman, and Martha Reese; two stepaunts, Natalie Manson and Veronica Render, both of Petersburg; three uncles, James Coleman (Melody) of Dinwiddie, Charles Coleman (Tracie) and Glen Brown, both of Petersburg; four great-aunts and four great-uncles; and a host of loving and devoted nieces; nephews; cousins; and numerous devoted friends too many to name.
Jr. will always be remembered for his amazing heart and love for his family and friends. He will be truly missed. K-Rongio is gone but will never be forgotten.
