Rodolfo Antonio Coma, 83, was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Santiago, Cuba, the son of Jose and Monserrat Coma. He died March 5, 2007, at his son's home in Friendswood, Texas.
He spent his childhood in Cuba. At the age of 19 he moved to the United States. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in May 1947. He became a United States citizen in 1950.
He was living in Madison, Tenn., when he met Ina Maria. They were united in marriage on Dec. 28, 1946. He was employed by Braniff Airlines as a station agent and station manager for 18 years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who for 40 years enjoyed the many chores necessary to maintain their 80 acre farm in Long Lane. He and his wife spent many hours observing nature and wildlife. He moved to Texas in February 2006 after the death of his loving wife.
He was a member of the Lebanon Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother.
Survivors include four sons and their wives: Rodolfo (Tony) Coma II, San Leon, Texas, Robert A. Coma, Grand Junction, Colo., Bruce E. Coma, Friendswood, Texas, and Richard B Coma, Southbury, Conn.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maria Magdalena Martinez, Miami Beach, Fla. He will be very lovingly missed by his family and many friends.
