Robert G. Grimm, 56, of Arlington, WA, passed away unexpectedly May 16, 2007. Robert, known to many as "Fred" or "Bob" was born August 16, 1950, to parents George and Arlyne Grimm. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1969. Agriculture was always a part of Robert's life. He spent many years operating a dairy farm, and more recently, he could be seen in the local fields hauling silage, making hay and socializing. He resided on the family farm that was homesteaded in 1878 by his great-grandfather, Thomas Jensen, his entire life. Robert was a member of the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Association and had previously served 25 years as a volunteer firefighter for the Silvana Fire Department. His special passion was to help conserve and protect Stillaguamish Valley farmland.

Robert is survived by his father, George Grimm; children, Amy (Mike) Scarsella and Bobby Grimm; brother, Bruce (Anne) Grimm; as well as his life partner, Marie Grimm; and his faithful canine companion, Sassy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1717 Larson Road, Silvana. Internment will follow at The Little White Church on the Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Association, 20722 67th Avenue NE, Arlington, WA 98223-4214 or Peace Lutheran Church, PO Box 100, Silvana, WA 98287-0100 in Robert's name.
