Altoona Mirror Thursday November 28 1912
I took a guess at his birth

Bologna was able to distinguish a railroader as far as he could see him

The Mirror (Altoona Pa Paper) Has many times spoken about the railroad "Bologna" a dog that belongs to employees of #1 & #2 round houses of Harrisburg a dog that acknowledged his friends the railroaders and took every possible chance to ride on the trains, very often making trips with his railroad friend from Harrisburg to Altoona and Phildelphia

Bologna died Monday night of old age being 14 years of age at the home of William Irvin 1221 North Seventh Street Harrisburg where Mr Irvin and his sister Mary cared for the dog when he was not off riding in the train with some of his friends. It was claimed that the dog knew a railroader at sight and was friendly with them. Although he never recognized a single man that was employed in any other work.
