In 1948 what was believed to be his remains but listed as "Unknown" were disintered from Lorraine American Cemetery, but could not be identified. His remains were re-interred at the Rhone American Cemetery. In August, 2010 his remains were exhumed and using DNA were identified in 2011 and he was re-interred here.
