Robert served as a Private First Class, 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Baltimore County, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on June 7, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted as being employed in the manufacture of miscellaneous products and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert was "Killed In Action" during the war and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

Service # 33890369

In 1948 what was believed to be his remains but listed as "Unknown" were disintered from Lorraine American Cemetery, but could not be identified. His remains were re-interred at the Rhone American Cemetery. In August, 2010 his remains were exhumed and using DNA were identified in 2011 and he was re-interred here.
