Corporal Humphreys, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, was Killed in Action, while fighting Chinese Communist forces near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea on November 30, 1950. His Remains Were Not Recovered. He was awarded the Purple Heart & Combat Infantry Badge. Humphreys' name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
