Cathie was the daughter of Archibald and Christina Scott. She married Harold W. Chapman approx. 1946 and they had two daughters: Barbara and Margie.

CATHERINE JEANNE (SCOTT) CHAPMAN Born to Archibald and Christina Scott on December 6, 1912 in Rutherglen, Scotland. She died peacefully on January 29, 2008 at Riverside Community Hospital with her family at her side. She was 95 years old. Cathie came to the United States with her family in 1920 when she was 7 years old. They moved to Riverside in 1929. Cathie graduated from Poly High School in 1931 and from University of Redlands in 1935. She taught school for two years and later became the church secretary for First Baptist Church Riverside where she worked for many years. There she met and married Harold Chapman. They were married for almost 52 years when Harold passed away in May, 2000. Cathie was an active member of First Baptist Church Riverside from 1929 until her death. She continued making her famous pomegranate jelly until just weeks before her death. Cathie is survived by daughters, Barbara Chapman and Margi Jacobson, son-in-law Lee Jacobson, brother Dewar Scott and his wife Dorothy, 5 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many others she adopted as her children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church Riverside. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church Riverside in her name.
