|Birth: ||Jan. 30, 1891|
|Death: ||Apr. 24, 1968|
Mary Pauline Thomas was born 30 Jan 1891 in Jellico, then a part of Dale County. She was the middle one of five daughters of John Morgan "Shug" Thomas and Susan Roberta Phelps. She was able to attend school only through the 4th grade before being forced to quit to help her parents on the farm.
On 27 Nov 1910 she married in Houston County, Willie Clarence Reynolds, a local boy who had left town for teacher training, and returned as the town's teacher at the one-room school. They had nine children, eight of whom survived to adulthood. After Will left teaching and began farming, she became a farm wife, with all of the extra work that involves. She made butter and sold it at the farmer's market in Dothan for extra household money.
Pauline loved all of her children and grandchildren. In her later years, she was quite adventurous and made several bus trips by herself to visit her children who had not stayed in the area. These visits took her to Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
