Named by her late "Grandfather" The Bootch was a happy, sweet, vibrant, kind dog. A cross breed between the controversial American Stafforshire and a German Shepherd, she was a perfect example of how, when well treated and properly socialized, a dog of these or ANY "aggresive" breed could exemplify the most admirable traits of loyalty, even temperament and true caring and companionship. Officially papered as a therapy animal Bootchie had visited many of her older "relatives" in the family in elderly health care facilites and not only brought them joy and comfort but was happy to be the center of attention as that brought more hugs, kisses and treats.
Having been adopted from a shelter when she was 8 months old, she was found to be underweight and the victim of severe abuse. This dog, rather than be prone to turn "mean" was of the personality to be eager to look for someone to love her as much as she could love in return.
I gave her the best possible life I could, took great pleasure in spoiling her and basking in her constant, loving company. It could easily be stated, that while I may have adopted her, she chose ME and in essence, we rescued each other.
She will remain in my heart as the most faithful companion and I take comfort in knowing that the last few hours of her life, while in pain, she knew that she was special and cared for and , even in the final moments of her life as I held her while she passed, she knew she was loved.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
