Revolutionary War Soldier; Private Capt. Weston's Co., Berks County Militia. His name appears on the rolls in 1779 and 1780.
Penna. Archives, Fifth Series, Vol. VIII, page 510 has him serving as a Private, 7th class, 5th company, 6th Battalion, Northampton Go., Militia commanded by Henry Geiger.
A memorial marker was placed by the D.A.R. to Revolutionary War soldiers including the name John George Huntzinger inside the entrance to this cemetery.
Information in DAR records wrong for date of birth as 3/25/1754 and date of death as 10/15/1815.
