Mary Bloss was, according to family history, an orphan, and her parents' names are not known. She married Henry H. Hedeman (1839-1933), a railroad construction worker and lumberyard clerk, about 1865. They had 11 children: Ella, Lawrence, Esther, Vincent, Harry, Walter, Sophia, Gilbert, Blanche, John, and Rose.
At the time of her death at the age of 82, Mary lived on C Street, in Sparrows Point-- probably the home of her daughter, Ella Hedeman McCormick and son-in-law, Dr. Carville McCormick.
