Ella Shaw was the 4th of 6 children born to Clarence H Ross and Evelyn M (Schuette) Ross. When she was 5 years old she went to live with her Uncle and Aunt Alaimo after her father was hospitalized in a VA facility due to a serious back injury.
After graduating from Salinas High School in 1948, she met Donald Shaw. They were married July 3, 1948 in Reno, Nevada. They had four children, Sandra Louise born 1948 in Salinas, California, Bruce Douglas born 1952 in Salinas California, Scott Morrison born 1954 in Stockton California & Craig William born 1960 in Portland Oregon and died 1992 in Mill Creek Washington.
The family moved from California to Oregon and finally settled in the Pacific Northwest as Donald followed job opportunities. Ella was a devoted mother and waited until her children were almost grown before taking a job at J C Penney's. She enjoyed crafts and sewing and had a reputation as an excellent cook and loved to entertain.
Don & Ella realized their dream and moved into a new home in Mill Creek Golf & Country Club in 1977. Together they enjoyed golf and an active social life and after retirement they spent winters in Arizona.
Her husband died in 1999 and she lived close to her daughter until her death at the age of 82 from a brief illness with pneumonia.
She will be missed by her children, her grandchildren Erik Denny, Raegan Berry and Samantha Shaw, and her great-grandchildren Tyler, Gabriela, Ava, Carmen and Sydney.
