OWRIE VERNON BROWN, 71, of Littleton died July 4. Services were July 8, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Verona, Calif., on Sept. 7, 1924. He married Lillian F. Casagranda, 1946. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II, and was a prisoner of war. He was a retired airline pilot. Survivors include his wife; sons Robert of Texas, William of Minnesota, Gerald of Littleton; three brothers; three sisters; six grandchildren

Owrie, you were one of my father's oldest friends. You would be so proud of your son Gerry, and the other relatives who worked so hard to make sure your and my Dad's crew that went down on Feb 16, 1945 were honored in Haselbach, Germany. Rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, Sergeant. TSGT Owrie Brown was the flight engineer on a B-24, 783rd Bomb Squadron, 465th Bomb Group, Fifteenth Air Force, flying out of Pantanella Airfield, Italy. His aircraft was downed during a bombing mission over Germany. Seven members...(Read more)
