Ala Mae Carrell, 98, passed from this life Monday, June 11, 2007.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at California Lane Church of Christ, 1906 California Lane, Arlington. Burial: Restland Memorial Park, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home-North Davis Drive.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to Berean Children's Home, Box 1009, Brookhaven, Miss. 39602, or a charity of choice.
Ala Mae was born Aug. 3, 1908, in Dawson to Reuben and Josie Hawkins. She and her family lived for many years in McKinney before she moved to Arlington in 1980. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and was an inspiration to many who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Carrell; two sons, Bob and David; and one granddaughter, Katy.
Survivors: Sons, Larry Carrell and wife, Sharon, and Ed Carrell and wife, Runay; sister, Beatrice Fagala; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
