Named after his grandfather, Cornelius Newland & middle name VICTOR after his mother's uncle Henry Clay Victor Newland...
...the "Clock Man", 'Vic' could fix any clock or watch brought to him.

Son of Dennis 'Dee' Long & Eva Mae Newland.
He married Thelma Willoughby, the first time 12 May 1930 & they two sons; Victor, 'Billy', & Robert, 'Bobby'.
In 1935 Vic was charged & served 13 years in prison for statutory rape. During this time Thelma divorced him.

After his release in 1949 Vic moved to Indiana to live with and aunt & uncle, Harold & Marion(Newland) Willoughby, then with Thelma being sick 'Billy' & 'Bobby' were sent to their dad (that's the pic to the right, Bob on right & Bill on left) & later that year, Thelma followed. At that time Cornelius & Thelma remarried Nov 1949. *The pic to the right was from that wedding.
(Harold Willoughby was Thelma's uncle & Marion Newland was Cornelius' aunt.)

About 1963-64 Cornelius & Thelma adopted their first grandchild, Linda, who was born from their son Victor & first wife. Linda had Cerebral Palsy.
