Josepha Butler, 85, of Mooresville, died February 25, 2008 in Millers Merry Manor, Mooresville. Ms. Butler was born July 18, 1922, in Hamilton County, Indiana, to the late William and Maude (Ross) Butler.

Ms. Butler was the Coordinator of Insurance for the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 22 years, retiring in 1978. In addition, she was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Mooresville. She enjoyed and competed in ballroom dancing and also enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially swimming and ice skating.

Following the tragic accident that took the lives of her sister, Myrna E. McKinsey, and three of Myrna's children, Daniel, Mark, and Phillip McKinsey, Josepha became the adoptive parent of Michael McKinsey, Paula J. Riley, and Mary G. Whitcomb (the three children who survived the accident). Ms. Butler and her two late sisters, Marguerite Butler and Grace Butler raised Mike, Paula, and Mary. In addition to her sisters, Ms. Butler was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Butler and a grandson, Taylor Whitcomb.

Survivors include her son, Michael P. McKinsey (Sue) of Indianapolis; daughters, Paula J. Riley of Mooresville, Mary G. Whitcomb (Robert) of Georgia; grandchildren, Phillip Riley, Mark & Matthew McKinsey, Christopher Whitcomb; nephews, David Butler of Mooresville; nieces, Alice Cordes of Mooresville and Anne Reach of Mooresville.

Services were entrusted to Carlisle and Sons Funeral Home of Mooresville, Indiana.
