Pfc. U.S. Army, Vietnam War-Pfc. Sachaschik died of his wounds on 2-24-1970 while serving as an Infantryman {11B10} with Co. A of the 1st Battalion of the 50th Infantry Regiment, 1st Field Force. Pfc. Sachaschik started his tour of Vietnam on November 3, 1969.

He is the son of Mr. Fred & Mrs. Rose Sachaschik of Grant Park, Illinois, and is a 1967 graduate of the Cook County School System. There is one other brother, Fred Jr.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal.
