Joe M. Carrico, 73, prominent Fancy Farm banker and landowner, died suddenly at 3:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home, a few minutes after he had returned from a trip to Mayfield. Dr. W. E. Merritt, who had been treating Mr. Carrico for a heart ailment for three years, said death was due to angina pectoria.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Jerome church Friday morning by the Rev. R. T. Wilson. Burial was in St. Jerome cemetery at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon.
Mr. Carrico, a native of Fancy Farm, had been president of the bank there for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mollie Spradling Carrico, a son, Emmannel Carrico, Fancy Farm, and six daughters, Mrs. Charles Burch, Mrs. Edna Carrico, Mrs. Esther Elliott and Miss Mary Hettie Carrico, Fancy Farm; Mrs. Paul Stahr, Hickman, and Mrs. Harold Cash, Mayfield.
