George Stout and Catherine Eagy married 21 March 1839 in Carroll Co, OH. From the bible below, it says they were married in the presence of all of Carroll County.

A cousin, Carolyn Parrish, has the bible of Mary Ann Stout McClure along with a couple of letters. The bible has two additional children of George and Catherine Eagy Stout.

A letter dated January 25, 1880 to Samuel and Mary Stout McClure from Mary's father, George Stout found in Mary's bible. Transcribed by Kingfisher. Comments in () are by me.

Well Samuel Mcclure and Mary I take my pen in hand to let you know that we are al well. At present hoping when theas few lines comes to hand they may find you all wel and hapy. I recvie your kind and welcome letter and was glad to here from yuens and that Sam was getting well of the chils for thear not very plesant I now (sic-know). Its veryy helty (sic-healthy) her. I don't now (sic-know) of enny one sick about here. Well Sam I have got my clover seed thrashed. I had sixteen bushels. I sold the seed fur five dollars a bushel that being purty well eat it. Well Samuel I

Woush youens was hara and see the nice weather we heave. Its is as nice as it is Aprile. Ther is about five inches of snow and that is agoing on a gallip the sun is so hot its driving it of in a heary (sic-hurry). We have had a very pirty winter hear. We had about five very cold days. This winte our gerdne looks first rate yet and I dnt think there will bee enny danger of our wheat crops for the wheat got such a good start last fall. The wheat don't frees out here. The grown (sic-ground) don't hoove up in this cuntry nor it don't watter scauld (? Perhaps water logged ?) so we have a good chance for wheat always that sow. Sam I have thirteen alkers (sic-acres) out. It looks nice.

Well Mary mother is going into the egg business this summer. She has about one hundred chickens. She thinks that she will be up with you this year in egg business. Cant in butter. She cant milk cows very well enny more. We just keep two cows enny more. That makes as much as we wount for our use. Well Sam I have just 3 head of horses and I will sell one of them and buy and get sheap. I have six head of sheap and thirteen head of hogs. There nice. Well I gess you had a culy (?) new years. We had we was daun (sic-down) at Janes (Amanda Jane Stout Ferguson) and we eat apples and rasons and a big dinner and come ham and on chrissmius Mary was ip here and we had a good time here.

We was a wishing you was all here to shear the fun. I want you all to meet har next Chrismus and I will have a turkey roast and ?? a live now mind the day.

Well Mary I got a letter from David Stout and he roat (sic-wrote) that sister Lisabet Tolsten is dead. She had a stroke of the palsey on the levnt of december and on the sixteenth she died. That all the sister I had a living. Well there is the wate (?) of the boys . George 80 (sic, George was born in June 1818 thus he was 61), David 52. Now I will bring my letter to a close from George Stout and famley to Samuel McClure and famley. Write soon. My pen is poor and paper too.

The will of George W. Stout from Richland County, Wisconsin as transcribed by Kingfisher.

I George W Stout of the town of Bloom County of Richland and State of Wisconsin Being of Sound mind and memory do make public and declare this to be my last will and testament to wit.
First, all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be first fully paid.
Second, I give devise and bequeath George McBain and David V. McBain the sum of one hundred dollars each that being their Mothers share of her fathers estate.
Third, I give devise and bequeath Mrs. Lucretia Stout the sum of twenty five dollars.
Fourth, I give devise and bequeath Amanda J. Furgason the sum of twenty-five dollars.
Fifth, I give devise and bequeath my son Jackson Stout the sum of five dollars.
Sixth, and the remainder of my estate both real and personal to be divided equal between the following named persons Mary A. McClure, Eliza Kohn, Amanda J. Furgason.
Seventh, I nominate and appoint S. D. Gault to be the executor of the my last will and testament here by revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of December A. D. 1894.
