Monique loved to work and started her own business, which she ran to the end of her life. She lived her life to the fullest and loved her Lord. She was a member of Height's Baptist Church. Monique is survived by her son, John Gerold Hodgson and his wife Jennifer: her daughter Eica Lynn Bird: her grandson John Davin Hodgson: parents:Earl Kirkland and Karen,& Nell and Harvey Shimek. Grandparents: Earl D. Kirkland, Sr., and Arnold Lee Shimek and wife Pam, sister: Debra Sue Heris and husband Joe: and many loving nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Monique is missed so much by her family and friends. She was so caring and thoughtful. So many lives have changed so much without her but we all know she's in Heaven with her Lord now. She decorated this earth with just her smile and love. She will always be in our hearts forever.

Monique had a very rare type of bacterial infection.
