MRS. A.J. LOWE DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS Was Member of Prominent Pioneer Family of North Carolina Mrs. Fannie Jane Lowe, wife of Rev. A.J. Lowe, died at the home, No. 125 Columbia street, at 11:15 o'clock Friday morning. The deceased was stricken with apoplexy Monday night and never regained consciousness. Mrs. Lowe was 59 years of age, having been born August 11, 1861, in Yancy county, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Thomas and Clara Arrwood, pioneers of this county. In her youth she moved with her parents to Greeneville, Tenn., and there grew in womanhood. She professed religion when a child and became a member of the Freewill church, and for forty-six years lived an exemplary life. On October 11, 1871, the deceased was married to Rev. A.J. Lowe, of Greeneville, with whom she lived happily until her death. To this union were born seven children, five boys and two girls, two of whom, William A. Lowe and Mrs. Will Presley, are deceased. The surviving children are Luke T., Bruce A., Mack D., Gurney L. Lowe and Mrs. C.H. Ashley, all of whom were at her bedside in her last illness. She also leave three brothers, one sister and thirteen grandchildren, together with a host of friends to mourn her death. The funeral will be conducted at the home at 2 o'clock this afternoon by the Rev. F.T.
