Mrs. Mary Crook, widow of Edwin M. Crook, pioneer and well known resident of Berlin township, died Friday after a long illness. Mrs. Crook, whose maiden name was Doty, was born in Monroe in 1847 and married Edwin Crook, a Civil war veteran over a half century ago. They lived practically all their lives in Berlin township at their farm home. They were always sincere leaders in community and church work.
Mrs. Crook is survived by four children: Walter, of Wayne; Ernest, of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Fred Shave and Mrs. Richard Lamb, of South Rockwood, and one brother, Joseph Doty of Carleton. Funeral services will be held from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made at Riverside cemetery.
