MACOMB: WALKER PACE
Private family graveside services for Walker Jackson Pace, 26, of Longview, TX, formerly of the Macomb area, will be Friday at Industry Cemetery. The Rev. Lori Harvey will officiate.
He was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2001, at his residence.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. There will be no family visitation. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.
Born June 18, 1974, in Macomb to Sheila Payne Pace and Jack Pace, he married Misty Thompson on March 9, 2001, in Las Vegas. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Sheila and John Provine of Adair; his father and stepmother, Jack and Susan Pace of Macomb; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Verl Payne of Industry, IL; his great-grandmother, Opal Payne of Industry, IL, and his stepgrandparents, John and Donna Hamm of Adair.
A 1992 graduate of Macomb High School, he entered the Army on June 12, 1992. He was stationed at Camp Casey in Korea with the 122nd Signal Battalion and later served with the 28th Combat Support Hospital, 82nd Airborne, at Fort Bragg, NC. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1996.
He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb and served with the Army National Guard at the Macomb Armory.
He moved to Salt Lake City in 1997, where he worked in telecommunications and served with the Army Reserves on a humanitarian mission to Guatemala. He last worked as a graphics designer and printer for Kinkos Inc. in Longview, transferring from Phoenix.
