Anderson was the son of Jacob Nicodemus and Nancy Wiggins. He married Iva Weeks in Kansas. They were the parents of children: Earl W, Carlyle (1890-1940), Winona (1894-1971), Laura M, Lotta, and Jean.

BIO - Anderson Nicodemus was born June 1, 1857, on a farm near Colfax, Jasper county, Iowa, not far from Des Moines, and is the son of Jacob and Nancy (Wiggens) Nicodemus, the former a native of Pennsylvania, of German descent, the latter born in Ohio, of English extraction. Nine children blessed the marriage, and seven of the number are still living, our subject being the fifth in order of birth.

In Plainville, Kansas, he married Miss Iva Weeks, a native of Marion, Iowa, and they have become the parents of six children, namely; Earl W, Carlisle, Winona, Laura May, Lottie, and Jean Arthur.

Anderson was graduated from the Iowa state law school in 1884, and moved to Indian territory to what is now Purcell, in 1891.

Anderson Nicodemus, 85-year-old veteran of the legal profession in Oklahoma, and assistant county attorney of Tulsa's early days, died at his home this morning (4-26-1943). His death followed a rapid illness, due to complications from old age. He was stricken Thursday and returned home from his office in the Alexander building where it was his custom to work each day in spite of his advanced years.

The survivors are the widow, Mrs. Iva Nicodemus of the home; two sons, Earl and Jean; two daughters Laura and Winona: a brother, Henry Nicodemus of Colfax, Iowa; and a sister Mrs. Ella Gray of Colorado Springs; four grandsons and two granddaughters. Interment will be made in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
