Gerald E. Gracey, 64, of 81 W. Mohawk St., Oswego, died Thursday, June 1, at home. Mr. Gracey was born in Black River and lived many years in Mexico before moving to Oswego. He was a machinist at the New York Central Railroad. He was formerly employed at GE of Syracuse. He was diesel mechanic for the Syracuse Supply Co. He was also a mechanic at Alcan. He owned and operated the Mexico Cider Mill Farm in Mexico and the Gerry Gracey Construction Company of Mexico. Mr. Gracey was a former member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church of Mexico and a member of St. Ann's Catholic
Church of Parish. He was a naval veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member and past commander of the Edick-Hamlink Post No 369 V.F.W., Mexico.
Surviving are six daughters, Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart, Sister Mary of the Precious Blood, and Sister Mary of the Eucharist, all of Marbury, Ala., Susan Himes of Oswego, Jacqueline Gracey of
Aransas, Texas, and Kathleen Young of St. Mary's, Kansas; three sons, Gerald E. Jr of Red Creek, Matthew Gracey of Oswego and James Gracey of Mexico; three brothers, John and Thomas of Watertown, and William of Lowville. Funeral services were held Monday from St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church. Burial with full military honors was in Mexico Village Cemetery.
