IN MEMORIAM - Mrs. Joseph Hoeller died in her home suddenly Friday evening Dec 22, 1922 a few minutes after 8 o'clock. Mrs. Hoeller had complained slightly Wednesday but continued her household work--except that a few times she took a brief rest. Friday morning Mrs Hoeller prepared breakfast in the usual way and shared the meal with her family. After her husband had gone to work on the road, Mrs. Hoeller busied herself with her spinning wheel--she was very adept at turning wool into yarn. Soon after supper Mrs Hoeller renewed her complaint over not feeling well and Doctor Rachmacher was promptly called but only to get there shortly before life was extinct--heartfailure being his pronouncement. The funeral services were held in the Visitation Church at 10:30 Sunday and the remains laid to rest in the parish cemetery. A very large attendance witnessed the funeral. Deceased was born in Koetzendorf, Germany, 65 years ago. When 25 years of age she came to this country and spent 4 years in St. Louis where she worked for wages. Mrs. Hoeller's maiden name was Margaret Ollet. Her marriage to Mr. Hoeller took place in the Visitation Church and soon the newly weds settled on the present home farm 3 1/2 miles north of Vienna. The Hoellers have 3 children dead. The living are: George, Miss Anna, Michael, Misses Elizabeth and Mary. Mrs. Hoeller was also the mother-adopt of Mrs. Lawrence Volmert. Mrs. Hoeller was a very industrious and frugal housewife. Her acquaintenance all speak well of her and the entire community is in deep sympathy with the bereaved husband and children who are disconsolate at the sudden loss of her motherly companionship.
