Louis John was born on Jan. 16, 1916 in Cleveland, the 6th of 13 children of John and Jennie (nee Iacobucci) Delzoppo. He had a twin sister who died at birth. He had brothers John, Clarence, Anthony, Michael and Alex and sisters Filomena, Clara, Josephine, Carmela and Suntine.
Lou attended Collinwood High School, but did not graduate. He became an amature boxer (under the name Lou Dell) and then worked in factories until he became disabled in 1972 after open heart surgery.
He married Anna B. Orphan Dec. 5, 1940 in Cleveland. They had the above listed children.Lou was 5 foot tall with brown eyes and black hair and over the years weighed between 120-160 lbs.
After 43 years of marriage, Ann passed away on Feb. 15, 1983 in Cleveland at age 60. Louis lived with daughter Mary in Eastlake when he passed away on Aug. 29, 2007 at age 91 Both are buried at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.

Funeral services for Louis J. Delzoppo, 91, of Eastlake, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37932 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Mr. Delzoppo died Aug. 29, 2007, at his home.
Born Jan. 16, 1916, in Cleveland, he was raised in the Collinwood neighborhood and then moved to Eastlake in 1987. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are his children, Louis (Diane) Delzoppo, Kathie (Joseph) Maroni, and Mary Delzoppo; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Suntine Carbone; brother, Alexander Delzoppo; and many nieces and nephews.
His wife, Anna (Orphan); siblings, Philomena Gross, John Delzoppo, Josephine Totarella, Clara Delzoppo, Clarence Delzoppo, a twin sister at birth, Anthony Delzoppo, Michael Delzoppo, and Carmela Zeleniakas are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday & from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
