Lester was a resident of Town and Country Village in Lisbon, Maine.
He was born in Lisbon, Maine the son of Wallace and Eloise (Grant) Benson.
He was educated in the Lisbon school system and then joined the Navy during WWII.
He later went on to work in many of the local mills, continuing for many years as an active member of the Marine Reserves. He married Mildred Irene Foster and loved and cared for her for many years.
In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, dancing and especially music, the cornerstone of his family.
He is survived by three nephews, William Greer, Bruce Gould and Barry Gould; six nieces, Phyllis Blasko, Judy Adams, Maxine Baston, Sandra Lang, Sharon Corwin, and Kathleen Searles; and many grand-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Irene; sisters, Doris Gould, Nellie Parlin, and Arline Baston; a niece, Glenice Hunter; and a nephew, Richard Baston.
