Ava was born to Alton and Ruth (Farrar) Grant.

On March 9, 1935, she married Francis "Buster" L. Bradbury. They had four daughters, Janice, Natalie, Linda and Jerrilyn.

She attended local area schools, where she enjoyed being active in the drama club. She was a wonderfully talented piano player.

As an adult, she worked at the family business of Paris Farmers Union, until her retirement.

One of her favorite pastimes was going for long rides in her car. She and Buster loved to dance, travel and go camping, until his untimely death in 1974.

Ava was active in several organizations. She was a lifetime member of the Norway/Paris Fish and Game Sportsman's Club. She and Buster donated the land on the Buckfield Road, and a larger stone was set on the land and engraved in their honor two years ago.

She was a member of the South Paris First Congregational Church in South Paris, where she was also a member of the Thalien Sisters.

She was a lifelong member of the South Paris Historical Society, to which she had donated many items through the years. As a member of the Oxford County Extension Service, she spent many weeks painstakingly researching foreign lands and peoples in order to present comprehensive reports to the service. Ava was also a member of the South Paris Alumni Association.

Before entering the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center this past May, Ava had a wonderful staff of caregivers at home, all of whom became adopted family members and to whom the family will be forever grateful. We thank each of you for your unending care and love for our precious mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her daughters, Janice, Natalie and her husband, Richard I., and Jerrilyn, and her husband, Wesley; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great- grandchildren, all of whom will greatly miss her and her great big smile.

She was predeceased by her husband; parents; a sister, Gladys Nelson; a brother, Gordon Grant; an infant brother, Harold; and daughter, Linda.
Interment will follow at Riverside Annex Cemetery, South Paris. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ava's memory may be sent to South Paris Historical Society, High Street, South Paris, ME 04281, or to the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., South Paris, ME 04281. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steven Davis, Richard Johnson II, David Johnson and Daryl Komulainen, and great-grandsons, Toby Guilford and Daniel Johnson. Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 743-0270.
