Gary Alan Outlaw, 57, of Evansville, departed this life on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006.
He was a devoted father. He was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral, where he served as a trustee. He was a former member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and Dove Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Gary worked at Alcan Sebree Plant for six years and Bristol Myers Squibb for 26 years.
He was born in Evansville on July 14, 1949, to Paul Sr. and Ruth Louise Outlaw, who preceded him in death.
Gary was a 1967 graduate of Reitz High School and attended the University of Southern Indiana.
He volunteered at the St. John's Soup Kitchen. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid sports fan.
Gary is survived by his wife, Anna; daughter, Andrea Renae Outlaw (Mike Ethridge); son, DeWayne Alan Outlaw; sisters, Vera Chester and Terri Dorsey (Maurice); brothers, Paul Outlaw Jr. (Patricia), Henry (Connie), Phillip (DeAnna), and Virgil (Gloria); mother-in-law, Georgianna Dow; father-in-law, Lancaster Dow Jr.; sister-in-law, Lori (James) Sutton; brothers-in-law, Raymond Williams, Michael Williams, Lancaster Dow III, Mark (Terry) Dow, David Dow and Gregory Dow; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Prayers will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at 10:15 a.m. at Alexander West Chapel, followed by services at St. Benedict Cathedral at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Lyles Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel.
