Mrs. Martha GARRETT died at her home in Scotland, January 30, 1905, aged 69 years, 10 months, 15 days. Her maiden name was HANN and she was born and raised in Monroe county, Ohio. She moved to Indiana with her brother-in-law, Hiram DECKER, in the year 1857. She was married to J. H. GARRETT, May 27, 1858. To this union were born six children—three sons and three daughters. The husband, three sons and two daughters together with twenty-eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister are left to mourn the loss of a good woman. At the age of fifteen years Mrs. GARRETT joined the M. E. church and lived a faithful member.
She was buried at Scotland, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. W. P. WALLACE, of Newberry, who had been her pastor.
